According to Congress and news organizations there are a reported 46 million Uninsured Americans. This estimate of course does not take into consideration the current economic climate or census figures.

Those fortunate enough to have health insurance often find at their time of need, the fine print in their policy excludes their illness or treatment. Unfortunately, both premiums and out-of-pocket expenses are on the rise. The only thing not on the rise is coverage and service.

If you are among the growing number of uninsured, you are in a category of patients that will pay the most for healthcare! Insurance companies and Medicare negotiate discounted rates with providers. If you have no insurance you don't benefit from any discounts - you pay top dollar! Think of it this way, hotels have what they call a "Room Rack Rate", say $200, what they would ideally like to charge for a room. Rarely does anyone  pay the "Rack Rate" because there are associations and organizations working to get you a better rate (AAA, Travel Groups, On-Line Sites). Everyone is fighting to get you a better rate to get your business. If you are uninsured, you don't have anyone negotiating down your rate for services, so your providers charge the full price. At times this full price is a moving target.

It is estimated that 80-90% of all medical bills contain errors. Many are unintentional human errors. At Medical Advocate & Billing Consultants (MABC) we will review your itemized bills for accuracy of coding and charges. A few examples of billing errors include:
